Givelify Is a Finalist In the 2014 TechPoint Mira Awards
The Givelify team is thrilled to announce that we were nominated and are now finalists for the 2014 TechPoint Mira Award.
There were a record 170 applications for this year’s awards, 50 more than last year and 40% more than the previous record. Of these, we are one of just 12 companies named as finalists in the Mobile Tech category. Companies and individuals are nominated and judged by independent panels.
The old joke with awards like the Oscars and the Grammys is the non-winners grit their teeth, fake a smile and say it’s an honor just to be nominated. The truth is whether or not we win an award doesn’t matter.
After not quite four months with a live app, we are extremely proud that our peers have placed us among the roster of nominees. They recognize the value and importance of what we’re doing, and to have Givelify recognized so early in its development—both for what it is and what it will be—is humbling.
According to award sponsor TechPoint, the awards are about “recognizing excellence and innovation and celebrating the many successes of Indiana’s high-tech community, including the contributions of businesses, startups, organizations, schools, departments, teams and individuals from all over the state.”
Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint, said, “The Mira Awards are the biggest stage for tech in Indiana and a harbinger of future growth as much as they are a celebration of recent achievements.”
“Every year the community comes together through TechPoint’s awards program to recognize excellence, innovation and success, and it’s worth noting that almost all of the major tech companies in Central Indiana that were acquired or went public since 2007, are also past Mira Award nominees and winners. That’s the particular brand of strength and momentum that the Mira Awards represent,” Langellier said.
Winners will be announced May 3 at a black tie awards ceremony at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
